What a great year it has been! Too many things to recount in one blog. I am so proud of this year’s class and all the things they accomplished. I know they will do great in middle school. As for this blog, I am going to be posting summer tips to help students stay prepared for the upcoming year. Hopefully some of my new fifth graders will stumble upon this site and get a head start on their fifth grade year. Below are a couple of links of some of the highlights of the past year. On the side, are some of my former students’, makes me sad to call them former, blogs. Also on the side are links to helpful websites to keep yourself in mental shape during the summer.

The other day in math we went on a polygon hunt. The polygon hunt is where we had to go somewhere in the school and find different 3D shapes. First we went outside on the playground and found many different shapes, like the bluehouse climbing bars are cylinders. Then went to the carlobby, then the caffiteria, then the gym, and then finally we went back to the classroom.Evidently, we didn’t get to do the classroom, but we had fun anyway. That was the day of The Polygon Hunt.

We in our class have these things called technology buddies. They are from lower grades and they come in and do stuff involving technology like computers. Last time we got a survey of peoples favorite book and then recorded it on garage band. It was so cool. I hope we get to do stuff like that again.
