Garden and school seasons run differently so the students haven’t had a chance to see their hard work. The two beds have flourished despite being hammered by the April hail storm. Every time I go to water the plants, I harvest at least one squash or cucumber and a handful of beans. The tomatoes are just starting to come in and the peppers are starting blossom. The berry bed is not doing as great but we knew that going into year 1. The bushes are developing nicely and should produce more berries next year. Yesterday, I found our first pumpkin (looks like a small watermelon) growing. I can’t wait for the students to visit and see their harvest and the new students to carry on the responsibility.
