A couple of months ago, my class was awarded a grant to create educational music. We have had a blast doing it, and the students have really impressed me with their songs. Last week, we were talking about our annual Buddy Bands sale and how we are going to do it for Lucas. As we were thinking of ways to promote the Lucas Bands, the students asked if they could create a song for him.

There are many reasons I love being a teacher but this is one tops them all. Watching these kids create the music, lyrics, and sing with all their heart gave me chills. I literally had to hold back tears today when we were doing the final take.

The verses are sung by my fifth grade class, and the chorus is done by Lucas’s first grade class. The song will play during our Lucas Bands commercials that will air this Monday.
